Yesterday was a landmark day at the Weldon household. Chip killed his first ever turkey! He’s been scoping out the spot and planning his tactics. He invited his cousin, Ricky Talley to go with him yesterday morning. Ricky is really good at turkey calling, so it was a team effort in getting this turkey to come out close enough for the kill.
They actually had to sit for over an hour waiting and watching the turkey “strut his stuff" before getting a shot. This particular turkey was companioned with a jake and a hen, but only the big boy was bagged!
I’m not sure when I was making these pictures who was more excited: Chip or Ricky? They were both really pumped!
